Scherben opens the exhibition Suspension by artist Burkhard Beschow on Friday, 21 February, an exhibition that not least connects the centre of Berlin with the surrounding, peripheral locations affected by structural change.
Beschow, born in Dresden in 1983, studied media art in Leipzig. In his site-specific, process-based works, he examines the action-related nature of abandoned places and their potential as spaces for reflection on reality and time. As the operator of the Wedding art space Sangt Hypolit, he has created a place of great importance for Berlin’s independent scene in recent years.
With Suspension, Beschow creates a contemplative space in which a deconstructed narrative about the past, present and immanent future unfolds. The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on states of transformation and refers to the latent tension of our time.
Scherben invites all guests to visit the exhibition during opening hours Fri - Sun 2 - 6 pm in the exhibition space at Leipziger Straße 61 in Mitte. It will be available free of charge from 21 February
until 13 April.
