Still thinking about it

Double

Milan

“Still thinking about it” is the first exhibition by Double.
Starting with Marisa and Lorenzo felt like the most logical choice right from the start.
There are affinities between the two; I sensed them:
the use of materials and photographic images,
the freedom with which they manipulate them.
Both share a kind of detachment and a charming clumsiness
in handling the media through which we tend to experience these images.
Often it’s an act of compositional choice, of meaning and memory,
sometimes an act of seduction.
They both have the city of New York in common,
as well as the fog:
Lorenzo talks about it,
Marisa I met right in the middle of it.
Both are tall and laugh often.
Both struck me immediately.

(In the background: folk music of questionable taste.)
