Galerie Buchholz presents Isa Genzken’s latest major sculptural installation “Untitled (4 Türme, 3 Stelen)”, 2015 alongside “Untitled (Schauspieler)”, 2012 and the architectural maquette of “Vollmond”, 1997/2015, in celebration of the release of a new publication on Isa Genzken’s work.
Last year for her 75th birthday Isa Genzken was honored with a comprehensive exhibition at Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin. The exhibition’s catalogue, designed by Julie Peeters and published by Buchhandlung Walther und Franz König, features extensive photographic documentation of the installation in Mies van der Rohe’s iconic building. It also contains selected texts by Dieter Schwarz, Sabine Breitwieser, Manfred Hermes, Tom McDonough, Diedrich Diederichsen, Juliane Rebentisch, Isa Genzken, conversations between Isa Genzken and Wolfgang Tillmans and Diedrich Diederichsen, and a preface by the curators of the Neue Nationalgalerie exhibition Klaus Biesenbach and Lisa Botti. In a newly commissioned text Diedrich Diederichsen writes about the installation “Untitled (4 Türme, 3 Stelen)”, 2015. The original German version was included in the publication. Additionally, an English translation of Diederichsen’s text will accompany our exhibition.
