The window displays a tableau of rephotographed negatives from Wham! in China: Foreign Skies, the second cut made ofthe travelogue documenting the musical group’s 1985 tour. Entering, the text of a postcard prop from the film Mysterious Skin is available as a takeaway at the desk. A painting impressed from an old family photo may be visited in the office.

These works developed in the course of Li’s ongoing conversation and collaboration with Los Angeles-based artist Glen Fogel.

If you were there, you’d know complements Li’s forthcoming exhibition I Want to Love with No Fear, opening January 9, 2026 at Chapter NY and accessible via the Canal St E station.
